Hey guys! I hope you're having a really good holiday. DA is doing a two for one deal with the core membership thing and I've had a few offers to extend mine (??) I really appreciate the thought, but please don't donate one to me. Mostly because it's a waste of money, I am a premium/core/whatever new thing forever, it's not one of the old 7 year options and it won't be adding time to it. I'm a permanently subbed member from back when I used to do work for DA. I am also grateful for the offer to sub my comic/side accounts, but I don't really support the push they've done for core and would really rather not. I'm not going to maintain it or use it, please get yourself something nice instead, these things are not cheap ♥

Sorry if you've sent me a comment or a note in the time I've been gone, it'll take me a little bit to catch up on everything, but I will get there! I've got some stuff to share with you and some news stuff to do, but I'm pretty internet exhausted right now, so before things start getting hot in here again, I just wanted to say hi

So, the Fatal Frame series is a thing that me and my roomate have been trying to get our hands on forever, and we where recently able to acquire the first few games at a convention from an old games dealer. I'm a huge horror fan (it is my fave genre), I love ghost stuff and everyone and their dog has been telling me to play these games. I started with 1, because I like to play things in order and everyone tells me I should start there for the difficulty curve and because it's one of the better ones, and much to my surprise... I'm finding the game extremely boring.

I've been told by so many people that these are some of the best games, or even just things the genre in general has to offer, but I just don't see it. So far everything has been constant loud music and jump scares. Every time I feel like the game is building up to something or has created any sort of tension, the game's equivalent of a person in a rubber Halloween mask yelling "BOOGABOOGA" repeatedly in my ear shows up and I get really frustrated with it. It all feels really corny and heavy handed and lazy. Sometimes the game tricks me into thinking something mysterious and interesting is going to happen for me to learn about and solve, but as soon as anything on screen happens, the main character just outright tells me what I should do and spells everything out for me. And then the guy in the rubber mask comes back.

I really really want to like these games, I'm not super far into the first one, but every time I pick it up and try again, I get angry with it. Is this a constant in the game? Does the game get better later? Will there be better story telling? Do the other games do things differently? Are the other games better? I don't care about spoilers, I'd really just like an honest answer or conversation about what I can expect from the series. If these games are scary, or get scary, could you tell me why? If they get interesting, can you tell me why? I just don't find being startled by jump scares a horrifying, dreadful or interesting experience.

Hey! I've been poking around trying to find someone I want to commission for a pair of plush/dolls, but I'm finding a hard time finding people who are available or make the kinds of dolls I'm looking for so I thought I'd drop a journal on DA to see if maybe you guys might know of someone/be someone 'cause I'm really clueless about crafting communities

I'm not looking for one style of doll in particular and would love to know what kind of styles are out there. I can post stuff I like and stuff I don't like.

Things I'm looking for in a plush:
- nice form and shapes
- prefer yarn/faux hair over felt
- nicely proportioned
- made of nice materials
- nice costume work
- sits/can sit

- anime flat head with pasted cutout felt style
- cheap/off colour materials
- stiff legs to torso (can't sit, tips over)

Characters are human/not animals. I'd much rather pay more for a really nice doll than less for an OK doll. I also love resin cast/bjd style dolls, but not sure it is something I can afford at this time. I'd still be willing to take a look though!
